About Us

I've been into flight simulation since the mid-80s. I flew everything from Sublogic's flight simulation, through all the various Microsoft simulation platforms, then on to Prepar3D, X-Plane 11, and now MSFS 2020. In all that time I have been part of many virtual airlines but they always seemed to be lacking something so I would move on and find the next one. For years I looked for a virtual airline that suited my idea of what a VA should be but never quite found what I was after and so in late 2018, I decided to stop looking for a virtual airline and start my own with a focus on the one thing missing from all the others I had tried: Lack of community.

I didn’t want to just fly planes. I wanted to meet people, talk with my fellow flight simulation enthusiasts, and wind up making friends along the way. That is why our Discord server is a vital and required part of our airline. We strongly encourage social interaction with our pilots to help each other learn, encourage, and rib each other for fun. Thus, Solaris Air was born.

We began our VA journey on the old Sim Buddy VA management system which we quickly outgrew. We were filling up with pilots fast and didn’t have enough database room to grow. We left Simbuddy in late 2018 and headed over to FSAirlines where we operated and dominated the statistic pages for three years. We saw over 800 pilots come through our doors in that three years. We have once again outgrown the service and many of our pilots and the staff concluded that this VA management platform was outdated looking and not customizable so at the end of 2022 we decided to move to vaBase and build our own custom website and here we are today.

We offer a wide range of aircraft spread out across multiple divisions. We have scheduled flights all over North America and Europe. Our cargo division flies globally. Want to fly the rich and famous around as a Bizjet captain? All of this is made possible by our massive flight schedule database and if you can’t find it there, we offer charter flight services for pilots who want to go off the beaten path.
